ESCAPE

FINAL MOVIE

3DS MAX FILE

Time Based Visualisation

My time based visualisation assignment three was based upon the architectural modelling of an environment based upon the phrase ‘Fence’. My movie is based upon the environment of a city where a person is kept hostage and can’t be found. Throughout the movie you will see flashes of pictures relating to gaol and freedom and these flashes are reminding the viewer of the main goal to capture and save the hostage. Throughout the movie the viewer is faced with different stages or levels and these are based on my 10 words. Each stage is a struggle it is like a task. Once all tasks are completed and the viewer mentally and successfully achieves all the levels then the hostage is captured and both the hostage and rescuer leave the busy city and live a free life. I feel that the song (set me free - nivea) successfully compliments the clip as it is about a free spirit and free life emerging.

FINAL WORD: ESCAPE

Reflection

Based upon my last two tasks I really enhanced my architecutral level of standards in relation to architectural computing. I have learnt so many new techniques that have enabled me to have the confidence to create computer animated details that I would not have been able to do not taking part in this coarse and thee past two tasks. These tasks have allowed me to feel and comunicate with all the outcomes that are involved within the word 'Fence' or any term in general. It was very difficult to animate this concept but I feel I have gained some very valuable techniques.

Time Based - Assessment Two

ARCHITECTURAL PRECINCT - ASSESSMENT TWO

FENCE - Booundary, restriction, limitation, closure, safety. These are all wrods which describe the elements of a fence. When asked to choose an architectural precinct for a fence, I decided to base it upon a boundary. A boundary is an object which surrounds or encloses a number of other objects. A coundary is seen as a restriction that limitates the amount of activities that can occur within that particular area. I have chosen my architectural precint to be a boundary because I see it as a very negative and suffocating environment that can be worked with and animated really well.

Task One - The Fence

The Fence....

When I was asked to look deeper into the meaning of a fence I automatically thought of 3 things. Number one being a barrier, two being an enemy and three being protection.

A fency can be perveived as a barrier as it physical stops or seperates different identities. A fence could also perceived to be the enemy as it can forbid access to a certain area, the fence is also perceived as protection becuase it protects something from other objects.

These three ideas were used in making up my animated videos.

The 'FENCE'

According to the dectionary a fence is "a barrier enclosing or bordering a field". This statement can be taken in many different ways. The logical meaning is the seperation of two parties. In my own view the theoretical meaning of a fence is the seperation of one's personal possessions.

TIME BASED

ARCHITECTURAL PRECINCT

Fence - Boundary, restriction, limitation, enclosure, safety. These words are all used in describing the attributes of a fence. When asked to choose an architectural precinct I decided to base it upon a boundary. A boundary is a term used in reference to the restriction that occurs to particular objects within an enclosed area. Within the area there is a limitation to the extent of activities that can take place. I have chosen a boundary an my architectural precinct as has a very dark, restriciton that can be used well with animation.
